Housed in the former county jail, the museum depicts nearly 4,000 years of the island’s history through artifacts, the narrations of docents, tour guides, and lectures. Exhibits dedicated to the island’s first inhabitants, Spanish missions, the Florida railroad, and Nassau County’s industrial past are on display. It lies in downtown Fernandina Beach, eight blocks west of Central Park.
